About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS). As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in planning, organizing, and managing the delivery of accounting services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and advise on accounting and administrative policies and monitor policy compliance.
  • Analyze operating results and develop specific recommendations to help entities address adverse trends or changes in operations.
  • Prepare and review information for financial statements and for briefs to management and senior military officers.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees, managers, and senior military officers on accounting/finance related topics/programs.
  • Report unusual trends or activities to senior managers for further investigation and recommend revisions to existing policy, programs, and procedures to address evolving needs.
Requirements
  • College diploma or certificate in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in accounting, or a related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent customer service skills and an aptitude to learn.
