Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable Spare School Bus Driver to join our team in Burnside, NS. As a Spare Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, prioritizing vehicle maintenance, and providing support to students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport students to and from school, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition
  • Provide support to students with disabilities, including assisting with boarding and exiting the bus
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and staff to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license for at least 2 years
  • At least 21 years old
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Patience, caring, attention to detail, and communication skills are essential
  • Ability to pass a Ministry-prescribed medical examination and background checks
  • Valid driving abstract from Access Nova Scotia
