Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Next Level Group. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple machining centers to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and Operation: Assist in the assembly and delivery of tooling to aid in efficient machine operation, and perform setups on multiple machines throughout all departments.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a team environment, assisting with setup/operation duties on rush jobs to promote their effective completion.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain a clean, effective, and safe work environment, and demonstrate the ability to notice abnormal conditions in setups and request clarification from a more senior Setup Machinist.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of the fixturing system utilized in the machining department, and ability to manipulate CAM files to determine the setup details to facilitate independent progress on the setup.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Good verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Completion of Grade 12 diploma an asset or equivalent experience, and college diploma/university degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Previous experience as a setup machinist trainee is an asset, and some exposure and knowledge of CAM software.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work on various shifts with supervision.
