Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating CNC programs, setting up and operating CNC machines, and ensuring the highest level of quality and precision in our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create CNC programs for 3-axis, 5-axis, and CNC lathe machines using Mastercam software.
  • Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to plan CNC programs, calculate correct dimensions, and determine machine speeds and feed rates.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles to ensure precise machining.
  • Use appropriate tools, fixtures, and indicators to set up the machine, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Load, unload, change, and modify programs as required, maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Change and set cutting tools, modifying and grinding tools as needed to achieve optimal performance.
  • Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading, maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance, identifying and addressing any quality issues.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the success of the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience within a precision machining environment.
  • Certificate of qualification, college degree, or other training in CNC machining is an asset.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machinist processes, with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Fanuc or Haas experience is a must, with familiarity with Mastercam software also required.
  • Previous aerospace experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
