Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at JOHNSTON EQUIPMENT. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Perform other routine maintenance
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in this field
  • Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Industrial mechanics and maintenance technology
  • Automobile/automotive mechanics technology/technician
  • Medium/heavy vehicle and truck technology/technician
