Job Overview

Vention is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing and Procurement leader to join our Operations team. As Vice President, Manufacturing and Procurement, you will be responsible for scaling manufacturing operations, optimizing inventory turns, and improving service levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the global manufacturing strategy for Vention's distribution centers
  • Scale production capacity by setting up structured assembly processes and cadences
  • Improve assembly productivity and reduce unit costs
  • Operate client-assembly services, ensuring quality, margin, and lead-time targets
  • Support EMEA operations by implementing local-production capacity
  • Participate in product development, driving supply chain and manufacturing deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to drive quality and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive manufacturing outsourcing activities to reduce costs
Procurement and Strategic Sourcing
  • Develop Vention's supplier network, ensuring suppliers can scale capacity and quality
  • Lead strategic negotiation projects with key suppliers to drive unit cost reductions
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance, including quality and lead-time
  • Ramp-up new product introduction at suppliers, ensuring understanding of technical and quality requirements
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers while resolving performance/capability issues
  • Optimize inventory levels for working capital optimization and parts availability
  • Build procedures for inventory management, ensuring right-sizing of initial inventory levels
  • Support supplier audits, ensuring proper capacity planning and quality improvement
  • Drive master supply agreement contract negotiations across a portfolio of categories
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience in medium/high-throughput assembly lines
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, supplier management, and negotiations
  • Skilled in at least one quality methodology (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Strong data analytic background with the ability to run complex analysis independently
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to employees and upper management
  • Passion for optimizing assembly lines and supply chains
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with next-day deliveries and high volume
  • Experience with a global distribution network with multiple warehouses in Europe, North America, and Asia
