Pacific Academy, a leading independent Christian School in Surrey, British Columbia, seeks an exceptional Finance Director to oversee its financial health. This key role plays a pivotal part in the school's success, responsible for managing all financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, accounting, and reporting.

About the Role

The Finance Director reports directly to the Head of School and works closely with the Board Finance Committee and Senior Directors to support the school's mission and ensure sound financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with senior leaders, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Accounting and Reporting: Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger, ensuring regulatory compliance for CRA and Ministry of Education reporting.
  • Cash Flow and Asset Management: Strategically manage the school's cash flow to maintain sufficient liquidity for operations.
  • Financial Policies and Procedures: Ensure regulatory compliance, reviewing and updating financial policies regularly to align with the school's goals and legal requirements.
  • Risk Management and Insurance: Oversee the school's risk management program, including insurance procurement, to mitigate financial risks.
  • Audit and Tax Compliance: Coordinate the annual independent audit, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of audit schedules and financial statements.
  • Human Resources: Manage the human resource function, including employee benefits and pension administration.
  • Board Support: Serve on the Finance Committee and provide financial insights to the Board of Directors.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Contribute to the school's strategic direction as a member of the senior leadership team and collaborate with directors and administrators on school-wide initiatives.
Compensation Package

We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a generous benefits package, professional development opportunities, and a retirement plan.
