Temporary Legal Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Legal Counsel to join our team at Simcoe Muskoka Family Connections. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide critical support in representing the Agency in all legal matters related to children in need of protection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Agency in Superior Court of Justice, Family Court, and appeals
  • Provide legal consultation to Agency staff on matters relevant to protection case work
  • Prepare and present cases in a professional and effective manner
  • Collaborate with other parties to achieve the best interests of the child and the Agency
Requirements:
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
  • Sound knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and related legislation
  • Strong skill set in mediation and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated competence in working with diverse individuals and communities
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a highly desired asset
