Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain partnerships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders in the USVI, working closely with UVI researchers and other Strong Coasts team members.
- Work closely with community partners and Strong Coasts team members to co-design community events, workshops, and meetings that advance project goals while addressing community concerns and needs.
- Participate in, and in some cases lead, UVI's involvement in the CoPe Strong Coasts network, particularly those activities related to community engagement and social science.

Requirements
  • A doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in Marine Science, Anthropology, Geography, Sociology, Environmental Justice, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • A demonstrated record of successfully working within interdisciplinary research team settings.
  • Research expertise and achievements in environmental justice, coastal sustainability, political ecology, environmental social sciences, co-production with coastal actors, Nature-Based Solutions, and community engaged research are encouraged.
