Job Description

Providence Health Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in Addiction Services. As a key member of our interdisciplinary clinical team, you will provide holistic nursing care to patients struggling with addiction and substance use.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and identify patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
  • Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life-threatening situations, and document patient information in a manual and/or computerized environment.
  • Lead group patient/family sessions, coach patients and families to develop and maintain health-promoting behaviors, and provide direction to other staff members.
  • Participate in nursing orientation, share clinical knowledge with other nursing staff, and participate in in-service presentations and educational programs.
  • Support nursing research, facilitate discharge plans, and liaise with families and community resources agencies.
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and apply decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, operate related equipment, and teach and identify patient learning needs.
