Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Kelowna General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to nursing staff, including prioritizing and processing physicians' orders
  • Act as a communication link for the unit, relaying messages to staff and patients
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, maintain patient charts, and enter data into relevant systems
  • Perform various clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and preparing reports
  • Maintain timekeeping records for staff and submit payroll information
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education
  • Current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater completed within the past 48 months
  • Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
  • 1 year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
