Heavy Duty Truck Driver

BLS Transportation Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Truck Driver to join our team. As a long haul truck driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods across the country in a safe and timely manner.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have a Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks) and an Air Brakes Endorsement. Experience as a heavy duty truck driver is an asset but not required. We offer a competitive salary of $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Loading and unloading goods at various locations
- Overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- Performing brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all aspects of the vehicle
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and its contents
You will spend most of your time driving and may be away from home for extended periods. You must be willing to travel cross-border and overnight.
Requirements- A valid passport and a valid driver's licence
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Judgement and reliability are essential qualities for this role
