Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Mackenzie Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting, working collaboratively with our interprofessional team to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic, patient-centered care to patients with various medical conditions, including oncology patients.
- Manage a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, using empathy and professionalism to resolve issues and address concerns.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all, adhering to patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Canadian Nurses Association Oncology Certification or completed Standardized Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Course in progress or commitment to complete within 3 months of date of hire.
- Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, patient education, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of Best Practice Guidelines in management of Central Vascular Access devices, PICC, Port a Cath & Hickman.
- Experience working with the delivery of blood and Blood Products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- deSouza certified
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course.
- Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO)/Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
- A minimum of 1 year recent nursing experience working as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting within the past 3 years
- 2 years experience on an acute oncology unit
- Ability to speak a second language.
