**Job Title:** Extern Coordinator


**Job Description:**


Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Extern Coordinator to support the development and execution of a comprehensive Clinical Extern Program.


**Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive Clinical Extern Program to support the development of clinical students.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and competency evaluation of Clinical Externs.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to create, adapt, and deliver education/training and learning resources.
  • Support the integration of Clinical Externs at the organizational and unit level.
  • Provide on-unit support for Clinical Extern professional development.
  • Participate in competency evaluation and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the student clinical placement program to optimize health human resources.

**Requirements:



  • Regulated Healthcare Professional in good standing with their Professional College.
  • Three years related healthcare experience.
  • Current certificate in Basic Life Support by the Heart and Stroke Foundation preferred.
  • Passion for mentorship, preceptorship, and adult learning principles.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to collaborate across various levels of leadership.
  • Exceptionally patient and caregiver focused and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond positively to change, work independently, and develop systems for efficient workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills.
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven high level of maturity, discretion, and ability to maintain impartiality and objectivity.
  • Demonstrated evidence of commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to maintain a vehicle for travel between hospital sites.
