Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Specialist to join our team at Enthusiast Gaming. This is a remote position based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  2. Work closely with the Director of Finance to identify process gaps and assist with meeting IFRS compliance standards for all accounting functions.
  3. Assist with bookkeeping functions of specific entities within our consolidated group as assigned by the Finance team.
  4. Prepare and manage accounts payable accrual and prepaid schedules.
  5. Prepare month-end and quarter-end closing procedures.
  6. Respond to requests relating to information from customers, various departments, and other stakeholders.
  7. Assist with 1099 filings.
  8. Assist in US statutory surveys and reports.
  9. Assist in period tax filings, including HST and Corporate taxes.
  10. Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
  11. Prepare ad hoc reports and monitor KPIs.
  12. Complete and resolve complex reconciliations with high transaction volume and foreign exchange.
  13. Process documentation and business cases, write variance explanations, summaries of findings, and recommendations.
  14. Assist in the implementation of changes to improve use and efficiency of finance processes and procedures.
  15. Provide detailed analytics to management for decision-making purposes.
  16. Assist in corporate financial planning, budget, and cash management functions.
  17. Assist in periodic reports for senior management.
  18. Assist in the annual audit and quarterly review process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant business or accounting field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Experience with US Payroll/1099 filing/BEA surveys/dealing with US State and Federal agencies.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and experience using Caseware software.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to data extract, mine, and manipulate large volumes of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide written and verbal communications relevant to the user.
  • Highly analytical and detailed-oriented.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented with a 'can do' attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA in progress.
  • IFRS knowledge.
  • Experience using NetSuite.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
