Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leads to ensure a clear understanding of business and technical needs, assisting in selecting the best strategy and translating them into effective data solutions.
  • Design and implement solutions in Snowflake/Matillion/DBT using industry-leading best practices for life sciences data, ensuring optimal performance, efficient operations, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with leads to develop and maintain a right-sized data catalog and data lineage for commercial and medical affairs applications.
  • Identify, test, and prototype solutions, supporting testing teams with identifying the optimal test strategy.
  • Get reviews on designs to ensure consistency with architectural best practices, participate in regular implementation reviews to ensure consistent quality and adherence with standards.
  • Work in an agile team to implement data quality checks, set up process orchestrations, mitigate vulnerabilities, devise testing strategies, and automate repeatable tasks, participating and assisting in root cause analysis activities.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of data engineering experience with a proven track record in ETL, data modeling, data warehouse design, development, and ingesting data from diverse data sources using Matillion and Snowflake technologies.
  • Hands-on experience developing and optimizing within the Snowflake cloud data warehouse environment, with Snowpro certification a plus.
  • Advanced-level SQL/Matillion/DBT programming skills with the ability to perform ELT optimization for performance, knowledge/experience with cloud technologies (Lambda, S3, AWS policies, etc.) and Python programming.
  • Ability to handle end-to-end Matillion/Snowflake ETL process integrations, customization, and deployment of solutions that serve as the source of truth for reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Experience in defining and implementing quality standards for ELT, SQL, Snowflake, and DBT, as well as documenting and training other teammates on these standards.
  • Experience working in agile teams with short release cycles and possessing strong verbal, written, and team presentation communication skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with high analytical capability, with a history of leveraging data and analytical techniques to optimize business decisions.

Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical domain, with experience in analyzing and working with patient data, call activity data from CRM systems, and marketing data such as web traffic, email campaign metrics, and consent management.
  • Experience in data aggregation of channel sales (SP/SD) data, 3PL data, etc.
  • Experience in working with data from Veeva CRM, Marketing CRM, Salesforce ServiceCloud, and HealthCloud.
