Job Summary

The Regional Municipality of York is seeking a skilled Visual Media Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Creative and Digital Media department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and developing high-quality visual content for our Public Works Department projects and digital photography for Department assets and events.

Main Responsibilities

Conceptualize and develop a range of communication videos, photos, and graphics that promote and support program activities of the Department.
Provide electronic media expertise to assist the Program Manager with digital media that supports continuity, consistency, and effectiveness of messaging.
Develop project plans, scripted templates, and storyboarding that align with the Department's vision and requirements.
Liaise with internal contacts to obtain information required for developing and producing electronic media materials.
Arrange photo and video shoots, including booking equipment and scheduling time with required persons.
Liaise with external agencies regarding collaboration on projects and ensure that consistent and effective communication materials are developed.
Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch or Department objectives.

Requirements

Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Film and/or Video Production, Photography, Media Communications, or a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in creating corporate videos and taking a wide variety of photographs with ranging subject matter.
Demonstrated experience using current video and photo cameras and audio recording devices.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective and current communication strategies, particularly relating to electronic media.
Thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability in digital editing and related software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder, and Microsoft Office applications.
Valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
