This is an exciting opportunity for a Medical Professional to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences as a Physician Assistant in the General Surgery program.

About the Role

">

The Physician Assistant will work under the direct supervision of an attending General Surgeon within a multidisciplinary team in an academic in-patient setting.

The Physician Assistant will play a major role in facilitating consistent application of clinical protocols and continuity of care, identifying patients with acute clinical issues common to general surgery patients, and working within the multidisciplinary team to appropriately manage patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Provide a full range of physician assistant services in accordance with privileges granted.">
  • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health care resources as indicated.">
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable.">
  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.">

Qualifications

">

Graduate of Physician Assistant Program

Prior experience in general surgery or other surgical settings is an asset

Demonstrated ability to work alongside surgeons, nurses, and other Health Care Professionals

Demonstrated ability for independent action, initiative, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization

Location and Salary

This position will be located at Hamilton General Hospital.

The salary for this position is approximately $48.57 per hour.
