Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Process Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team at 1823 Consulting Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the water treatment plant, ensuring the highest quality of water is produced and distributed to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the water treatment plant, including disinfection, oxidation, and pumping systems.
  • Read blueprints and technical documents to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Take physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge, and analyze test results and instrument readings.
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content, and complete and maintain plant logs and reports.
  • Help with the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment, and make adjustments to plant equipment and systems.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and ensure plant systems are operating normally.
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water.
  • Patrol the plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other plant equipment, and respond to customer complaints on water quality problems.
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to confined spaces, hot temperatures, and noisy conditions. The candidate must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including earplugs, gloves, hard hat, mask, safety equipment/gear, and steel-toed safety boots.
