Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Process Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team at 1823 Consulting Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment systems, ensuring the production of high-quality water for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain water treatment systems, including disinfection, oxidation, and pumping systems.
  • Read blueprints and technical documents to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Perform physical and chemical measurements on water and sludge samples to monitor treatment effectiveness.
  • Analyze test results and instrument readings to identify areas for improvement and optimize treatment processes.
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Complete and maintain accurate plant logs and reports to track treatment processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with equipment installation, assembly, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect malfunctions and ensure normal operation.
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems to regulate treatment and distribution of water.
  • Patrol the plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Respond to customer complaints regarding water quality issues and provide solutions to resolve problems.
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals, while following safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in water treatment operations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various work sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and handling heavy loads.
