Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team on a temporary full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize a safe and engaging environment for children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
  • Develop and implement daily programming that aligns with our curriculum and approach, promoting children's optimal development and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and respectful team environment, supporting the inclusion and integration of children with special needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families, providing meaningful feedback and information about their child's progress and development.
  • Support the team in managing children's medication schedules and allergies, and participate in drop-off and pick-up duties as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Supervise student teachers and assist in completing college evaluation forms and discussions with student and placement teachers.
  • Attend agency staff meetings, training sessions, and special events, and maintain optimal attendance at work.
Requirements
  • Early Childhood Education degree or diploma, or equivalent experience working with families and children, including those with special needs.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Strong working knowledge of the ELECT and High Scope curriculum, and experience in program planning based on an inclusion model.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to build and maintain effective work partnerships with parents, colleagues, and service providers.
  • Acceptable Vulnerable Police Record Check, and current Standard First Aid certification and medical and immunization record.
