About the Role

BENFICA CONSTRUCTION LTD. is seeking a skilled Rough Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools and ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems, working collaboratively with other tradespeople to ensure a smooth construction process.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware, paying close attention to detail and ensuring a high level of finish.
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including industrial, institutional and residential environments.
Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced construction environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces and in noisy and dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in noisy and dusty conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
