We are seeking a highly skilled Construction General Manager to join our team at Syms Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate resources to implement organizational policies and programs
- Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
- Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments
- Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall human resources planning
- Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs
- Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions
- Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions
- Staff recruitment and selection
- Provide consultation and advice
- Project management
- Plan schedules, goals and objectives
- Plan development projects
- Ensure products and work methods maximize safety, productivity and comfort
- Plan, administer and control budgets for projects, programs, support services and equipment
- Ensure safety procedures are followed
- Monitor the project's success after release
- Coordinate work activities to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets
- Consult with clients to determine project needs
Requirements:
- Mechanical construction experience
- Project planning and implementation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
