Automation Systems Engineer

We have a permanent full-time opportunity for an Automation Systems Engineer in the Baggage Operations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining technical requirements, leading technical decisions, managing operational activities, guiding internal and external resources, conducting root cause analysis investigations, and issue resolution with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project proposals, identify scopes, and manage technical tasks for project activities.
- Manage all maintenance and support activities within SCADA/PLC systems, coordinating work of internal and external resources to ensure performance and service availability.
- Draft incident reports, provide technical analysis of incidents and outages, and generate dashboards and reports for executive leadership regarding system performance.
- Monitor trends and report on system availability and reliability, provide technical recommendations on potential issues, and identify areas of opportunity for technology evolution from industry advancements and trend analysis.
- Coordinate with contractors for assigned tasks, provide progress reports, and escalate issues to management or vendors for resolution.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, provide training and mentorship to internal teams, and offer technical guidance when necessary.
Key Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of recent relevant experience with SCADA systems, supporting, and delivering system updates.
- Expert knowledge of technologies underlying SCADA/PLC.
- Proven experience with virtual platforms, on-prem and cloud-based storage systems, project and vendor management, and developing junior resources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organization, coordination, leadership, coaching, mentoring, negotiating, and time management skills.
The estimated salary for this position is $96,431 per annum, based on a 40-hour work week, tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
