About the Role

The ideal candidate will have established relationships with mining companies, along with technical expertise designing and implementing environmental and social baseline studies and leading the preparation of impact assessments and development permits for capital projects with a focus on Canada. We are seeking an individual to help drive the continued growth of our business through selling and delivering world-class services, recruiting, and developing our next generation of leaders, and further advancing our reputation for supporting the development of some of the world's most complex projects.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other ERM Partners, our Client Account Directors and Managers to actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with mining clients aligned with our global strategy.
  • Provide business value, raising the profile of our capabilities and selling strategically within client organizations.
  • Develop new and expand existing client relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
  • Maintain a pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.
  • Manage business opportunities and use technical expertise to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting.
  • Contribute to leadership and management of project execution activities in support of our clients' mining and other major capital projects.
  • Lead consulting engagements in the areas of impact assessment, technical discipline-specific consulting and/or permitting and compliance.
  • Build, grow and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed, and given new areas of responsibility.
  • Support the growth and development of our global Impact Assessment & Planning service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within the business to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate us in the market.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build our global business, as well as to lead client and technical teams.
Requirements
  • BSc/MSc in environmental science, engineering, law or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience with capital project delivery, impact assessment and/or permitting, working substantially with the mining sector in Canada.
  • In-depth understanding of the mining industry, including juniors, mid-tier and major miners and existing industry relationships that can be leveraged into new business.
  • Demonstrated experience working with federal and provincial legislation and policies that apply to mine project development and permitting in Canada.
  • Business acumen to understand risks and challenges and to recognize opportunities to provide enterprise-wide solutions for clients.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multi-million-dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning and delivering large and strategic projects to successful regulatory outcomes.
  • Established reputation in Canada, including industry and government relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with Indigenous organizations and governments.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.
  • Bilingualism (French, Spanish, other) is a strong asset.
