About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Little Hands Inc. as a Childcare Professional. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement engaging and educational programs for children, taking into account their individual needs and interests.
  • Storytelling and Activities: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, promoting creativity and imagination.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress and development.
  • Child Guidance: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, as well as encouraging them to express themselves creatively through various mediums.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, adhering to licensing regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in early childhood education and teaching.
  • Certifications: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, reliability, team player, values and ethics, creativity, and honesty.
