About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scholar to join our faculty at Yukon University. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering our new Social Work degree program. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work closely with our partners in Yukon First Nations communities, as well as our colleagues across the university.

Responsibilities

  • Teach at the undergraduate level, including supervision of students
  • Develop curriculum and engage in degree development, ensuring ongoing relevance to needs identified in collaboration with Yukon First Nations
  • Engage in research and scholarly activity, including partnered, co-created, and/or co-led research with Indigenous Peoples and drawing on Indigenous Knowledges
  • Cultivate an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in Social Work
  • Strong scholarly and/or creative activity in the field of Social Work, preferably in partnership with Indigenous, northern, or rural/remote communities
  • Significant Social Work experience in direct practice and/or clinical settings, preferably in a Yukon, northern, or rural/remote context
  • Previous postsecondary teaching experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to institutional service, whether within a university context or through community engagement

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
