We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Buildings group at WSP Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural solutions for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, and transit facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop structural solutions for new and existing buildings, including structural alterations, renovations, and additions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and drafting personnel to assemble structural drawings and review design development.
- Utilize structural modeling software for analysis and interpretation of output data.
- Coordinate projects with peers and other disciplines, including architectural, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
- Client liaison and relationship management.
- Perform site visits and structural inspections for condition assessment reviews and construction administration services.
- Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.
- Review project documents for technical accuracy and competency.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Post-graduation degree will be considered as an asset.
- Registered Professional Engineer with the PEO.
- Excellent knowledge of structural theory, the National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code, and Canadian design standards.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software, including ETABS, SAP 2000, S-FRAME, and SAFE.
- 5-10 years of experience in structural design of buildings.
- Demonstrated project coordination experience.
- Suitable experience in the design of new and renovation projects for a variety of project types, including commercial, transit facilities, industrial, and water and wastewater.
- Seismic analysis and design experience is an asset.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
