Ovintiv is seeking a highly skilled Plant Operator to join our team at the Dawson North Facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our gas processing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a shift engineer and adhere to all Technical Safety guidelines.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment, aligning and setting daily priorities set out by the Plant Lead Operator.
- Effectively communicate with the shift leads and outside operators to execute on all tasks.
- Influence a safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot process problems and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization, working closely with Shift Lead and Lead Operator.
- Monitor and control plant processing conditions utilizing SCADA control systems when required.
- Maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the plant process and control room areas.
- Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock-out, emergency response, follow safe work procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulatory requirements. Responsible for corrective action if required.
- Ensure work order, operations improvement processes are followed.
- Maintain proper documentation including plant log, maintenance records, safety & environment reports, etc.
- Assist with special projects, including turnarounds planning, idea gathering sessions.
- Track and maintain key performance indicators such as production, downtime and production losses.
- Acts as support in an emergency as required utilizing the ICS system.
- Assists in investigating and reporting incidents and accidents as requested.
- British Columbia or Inter-Provincial 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate with the ability to complete a 3rd class.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of operational or Industry experience.
- Previous experience working experience with Maximo is preferred.
- ICS-100.
- Operational & Maintenance experience in gas compression, dehydration, and NGL recovery is preferred.
- Strong organizational & communication skills are required.
- Proficient in use and application of PC programs specifically in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Workday.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and is open to take on a variety of operational challenges.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with proven analytical, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Must live within the Dawson Creek catchment area.
