Facilities Manager for Social Integration and Diversity

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Manager to oversee our social integration and diversity initiatives, ensuring a welcoming environment for all employees.
Compensation PackageThe estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 CAD, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings options.
Responsibilities- Hire and train or arrange for training of cleaning staff, prioritizing candidates from underrepresented groups.
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, promoting a positive work environment.
- Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards, maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Recommend or arrange for additional services required such as painting, repair work, renovations or replacement of furnishings and equipment, balancing budget considerations.
- Co-ordinate work activities with other departments, fostering collaboration and communication.
- Establish work schedules, taking into account the needs of diverse employees.
- Provide support for the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, offering access to community resources, language training, and skills development opportunities.
- Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by conflict or natural disasters, recognizing the value they bring to our organization.
- Assist with foreign credential recognition, enabling individuals to leverage their skills and experience.
- Develop mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, promoting knowledge sharing and cultural understanding.
- Offer diversity and cross-cultural training, creating a welcoming work environment for all employees.
- Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, building trust and partnerships.
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, empowering them to succeed.
- Provide cultural competency training and awareness sessions, promoting a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives and histories.
- Facilitate access to Elders who can offer guidance and support to Indigenous employees, respecting traditional knowledge and wisdom.
- Implement hiring policies that discourage discrimination against visible minorities, anonymizing the process where possible.
- Develop mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, promoting knowledge sharing and career advancement.
- Offer diversity and cross-cultural training, creating a welcoming work environment for visible minority employees.
- Experience in facilities management, supervision, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record of promoting social integration and diversity initiatives.
