Server Engineering Team Lead

MongoDB is seeking an experienced Server Engineering Team Lead to join our Server Programmability (SP) Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of individual contributors, ensuring their success, and aiding their career growth.

The SP team's mission is to create and maintain the foundational layers of the Server codebase, enabling other developers to build MongoDB as a piece of correct, reliable, performant, idiomatic, modular, and maintainable software.

As a Server Engineering Team Lead, you will balance your time between coding, designing, mentorship, and leading your team. You will use agile practices to deliver features on a predictable schedule, maintain expertise on state-of-the-art software technologies and best practices, and aid Product Management in navigating difficult tradeoffs in prioritization.

You will collaborate with other server engineers, client drivers, cloud services, support, consulting, training, and marketing teams to coordinate changes. You will identify, design, implement, test, and support new features related to networking, intra/inter-process communication, performance, and observability in a large feature-rich C++ codebase.

As a Server Engineering Team Lead, you will be an advocate for writing secure, robust, well-reasoned industrial-strength software. You will have contributed to a project slated for the next major version of the MongoDB server and fixed a few bugs in a minor version of our latest stable release series.
