About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Laundry Worker at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our laundry operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our department equipment, in accordance with standards, regulations, and department policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the continuous processing of soiled and clean laundry and linen products in the department, providing clean and safe products to our customers in appropriate quantities.
  • Carry out the above functions in a professional manner, achieving the Mission, goals, and Objectives of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in WHMIS training and maintain knowledge of Infection Control procedures and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and customers, providing excellent customer service and support.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and organized individual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. If you have the following qualifications and experience, we encourage you to apply:

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control procedures and guidelines.
  • Completion of WHMIS training.
  • Good knowledge of the Infection Control Guidelines as they pertain to an industrial laundry operation.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours

This is a casual relief position, working variable hours as needed.

Compensation and Incentives

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $19.26 - $20.02, depending on experience.
