Physiotherapist - Rehabilitation Services Specialist

As a key member of the multidisciplinary regional rehabilitation team at Southern Health-Santé Sud, the Physiotherapist will operate with a high degree of independence to plan, deliver, and evaluate rehabilitation services for children and adult populations. Using a client-centred, goal-oriented approach, the incumbent will assess, intervene, consult, and educate clients and their caregivers in various settings, including acute care, outpatient, long-term care, and community settings.
The Physiotherapist will also provide clinical supervision and training for students and provisional members, and participate in the education of other healthcare professionals. With a strong focus on initiative and independent judgment, the position will exercise the necessary level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud, and adheres to the organization's policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and develop rehabilitation plans for clients
- Deliver and evaluate rehabilitation services
- Provide clinical supervision and training for students and provisional members
- Participate in the education of other healthcare professionals
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
Qualifications
- Masters or Baccalaureate Degree in Physiotherapy (BMR – PT) or equivalent entry-level requirement in Physiotherapy
- Active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba (CPM)
- Eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Outlook/Email
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with management and staff within the region and outside vendors and agencies
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality
- Good work and attendance record
