About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. In this role, you will provide direct care to patients based on their needs, working collaboratively with our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance;
  • Assist with patient teaching and education according to established guidelines;
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes;

To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to listen actively and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are also essential. Proficiency in French is an asset, but not required.

Requirements:
  • Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness (candidates must be registered and active with the CCA Registry);
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification;
  • Effective listening and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Candidates without provincial certification may be considered if they are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire.
