About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Eastern Zone.

This is a critical role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.

Job Description:
  • Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will work under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals to provide direct, hands-on care based on the needs of the patient and program/unit.
  • You will support patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, reinforcing patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent listening skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and competencies in other languages an asset. Your experience in continuing care assistant programs, provincial certification, and basic life support certification are also highly valued.
