Job Summary

Switzmalph Child Care Centre is seeking energetic and qualified full-time Early Childhood Educators to work at our centre. Positions available are for infant/toddler, preschool, and 3-5-year-old daycare programs. Early Childhood Educators will provide quality and inclusive programming in a group setting, supporting children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cross-cultural issues that impact the Secwepemc First Nation community.
  • Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the development of children and their mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of inclusivity of children with special needs.
  • Encourage children's learning and positive development of their self-concept.
  • Appropriately guide and supervise children in various settings.
  • Supervise children's indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring required safety standards according to licensing are met.
  • Possess excellent written and oral skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain healthy collaborative working relationships with members of staff, community, and other representatives from various organizations.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ongoing commitment to attend professional development courses annually.
  • Completion of an early childhood education certificate program.
  • Must have current first aid and food safe certificates.
  • Valid BC ECE certificate will be an asset.
  • Clear criminal record check.
