Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to join our client, a leading sustainability-focused packaging company based in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of the executive team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the company's growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze current accounting operations, provide improvement suggestions, and execute new processes.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Work with cross-functional teams to support growth initiatives and drive business expansion.
  • Board Preparation: Prepare and present financial information to the board of directors.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk analysis of current growth plans and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Identify and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Financial Experience: Minimum 10 years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years as a CFO or VP of Finance.
  • Education: Post-secondary degree and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Scaling Experience: Proven experience in scaling a company, including fundraising and acquisition.
  • Collaboration: Experience collaborating with accountants, auditors, and operational teams in a public accounting firm.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, management, problem-solving, and technology skills.
  • Industry Experience: B2B and B2C retail and e-commerce experience an asset.
  • Financial Knowledge: Solid comprehension of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: The discussed salary range is $210,000–$230,000, depending on experience.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including an ESOP component.
