About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team at Matheson Sweets & Catering. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of our catering services to clients across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement efficient methods to meet work schedules and deadlines
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring high-quality standards are met
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, minimizing waste and optimizing resources
  • Monitor and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for business growth
  • Prepare and submit reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop menus and ensure knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres
  • Supervise and check the assembly of trays and delivery of food trolleys, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Establish work schedules and delegate tasks effectively, promoting a positive and productive work environment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Physical demands of the role include standing for extended periods and working in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a team player attitude
  • Permanent work term, 30 to 42 hours per week, with a focus on customer satisfaction and quality service
