About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Ottawa team in Canada.

This individual will assume a project manager role and contribute to a team that plans and designs transportation infrastructure, complete streets, and urban mobility solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in municipal design and will be responsible for leading the delivery of transportation design projects.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with other engineers, planners, and designers to develop innovative solutions for complex transportation challenges.

You will also oversee site plan reviews, prepare technical memos and reports, and participate in business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaising with clients, project team members, and technical agencies regarding project requirements;
  • Leading the delivery of transportation design projects, including municipal and private development projects;
  • Collaborating with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners, and designers;
  • Overseeing site plan reviews for several projects to ensure compliance with municipal design standards;
  • Preparing and/or overseeing technical memos and reports to communicate technical results and recommendations;
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution;
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in functional road design;
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, Microstation, AutoTURN, Bluebeam;
  • Experience with traffic engineering-related software packages is an asset;
  • Familiarity with local planning/approval processes;
  • Knowledge and application of transportation standards and guidelines;
  • Strong communication skills (writing, presentations); English required, French considered an asset;
  • Leadership and coordination abilities working in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
