Motor Vehicle Mechanic

Job Summary:

As a Motor Vehicle Mechanic with the Niagara Region, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on the municipal fleet. This includes diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and conducting safety inspections. You will also be responsible for inputting information into fleet systems and databases accurately.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Completion of a Truck and Coach Technician (310T) apprenticeship
- 5 years of experience as a journeyman
- Working knowledge of municipal fleet maintenance operations and computerized fleet management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to drive and operate equipment safely
- Valid Class G driver's license

Responsibilities and Expectations:

- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on the municipal fleet
- Conduct safety inspections and diagnose issues
- Input information into fleet systems and databases accurately
- Maintain a valid and unrestricted Class G driver's license
- Participate in ongoing training and certification as required
