Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team. This role will involve providing leadership in the resuscitation and stabilization of major trauma patients and critically ill patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing a wide range of emergency medicine presentations, from injury to unexpected and undifferentiated medical and surgical illness in all ages, to mental health emergencies.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership in the resuscitation and stabilization of major trauma patients and critically ill patients.
- Assess and manage the full spectrum of emergency medicine presentations, including injury, unexpected and undifferentiated medical and surgical illness in all ages, and mental health emergencies.
- This is a full-time position, defined as 37.5 hours per week, and will involve rotational shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time work is also available and encouraged for those who also want to participate in the hospitalist program or family medicine practices.
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- All family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
- All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is also required.
- All applicants must have a current Certification in Emergency Medicine.
