Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician to join our team at Equiton Partners. As an Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing tax returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Tax Preparation: Prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll, including calculating and preparing cheques for employees.
  • Accounting Software: Maintain and update accounting software, including general ledger and accounts payable systems.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Work Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Accounting Software: Experience with accounting software, including general ledger and accounts payable systems.
  • MS Office: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
