Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Stuart Olson in Red Deer, AB. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing transmitters, switches, and control valves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and calibrate instruments to ensure accurate readings
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment or systems
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers
  • Install and maintain tubing and air actuated instruments
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement

Requirements:

  • Certified Instrumentation Journeyperson
  • Experience working maintenance in an operating Petro Chemical facility
  • CSTS 2020
  • Fall Protection (preferred)
  • Compliance to client site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights
  • Working in a confined space
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
