Heavy Duty Shop Operations Manager

Job OverviewWe are seeking a Shop Supervisor to oversee daily shop operations, providing mentorship and development to a team of technicians. This role involves guiding shop activities, fostering a positive teamwork environment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor and develop technicians, offering direct feedback to enhance shop efficiency.
- Provide oversight during diagnostics and mechanical repairs, maximizing technician productivity and efficiencies while maintaining quality control standards.
- Train technicians on repair and diagnostic procedures, including hands-on support as needed.
- Delegate work assignments and verify completed repairs to uphold quality standards.
- Monitor shop efficiency, productivity, and labor hours to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Supervise, lead, train, and mentor direct reports in alignment with company culture and policies.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Technician or Truck & Transport Mechanic trade qualification.
- Valid Driver's License, minimum of class 5 (Driver's License class 3 with Q endorsement considered an asset) and Driver's Abstract acceptable to TDF Group's Driver and Vehicle Safety Program.
- Strong computer skills and competency with BMS System, Microsoft Office, as well as diagnostic software and online manuals.
- Ability to demonstrate management skills and strong leadership competencies (previous management experience would be considered an asset).
- Ability to solve problems independently following company guidelines and policies.
