About the Role
The Clinical Excellence Specialist at Southlake Regional Health Centre is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires a strong commitment to clinical excellence, as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and our hospital policies.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care within the scope of practice, adhering to established frameworks and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Contribute to patient assessments and care planning, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Support the orientation of new staff and students, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, driving best practices for safe and exemplary care.
- Other duties as assigned, aligned with the hospital's strategic objectives.
Requirements and Skills
- 3 years of acute care or cardiac experience, with a strong focus on clinical excellence.
- Experience with intravenous and CVAD maintenance, with a commitment to patient safety.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for staying up-to-date on industry best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Knowledge of Electronic Documentation systems, with the ability to navigate complex software applications.
- Passion for patient and family-centered care, with a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes.
- Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with a focus on promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
Qualifications
- RPN diploma from a recognized nursing school, with a strong academic record.
- Valid RPN Certificate of Registration from the CNO, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Current BLS certification, with a focus on maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge.
- CC1 certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire, with a commitment to staying current with industry standards.
