Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Camp Manager to join our team on a rotational basis for projects across Canada. This role involves working in remote locations, requiring resourcefulness and strong interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilities maintenance, mechanical operations, and supporting the Camp Manager with additional duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilities maintenance and mechanical operations
- Supporting the Camp Manager with additional duties
- Participating in daily Toolbox meetings
- Team player and providing hands-on support
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess basic knowledge in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical fields. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Camp Manager or Labourer in remote settings is required. Additionally, you should hold a valid Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course, and a PAL license (for wildlife monitoring) is preferred.
You must also have a valid Driver's License and be physically fit to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Proficient computer skills, specifically in MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365), are necessary. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent communication skills, are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications and Proficiencies:
Previous experience working in remote camp settings is desirable. Familiarity with Diesel Generators, off-road vehicles, and chainsaws is also beneficial. Experience with Satellite phones and trades skills are considered assets. Handy and adaptable individuals with a positive attitude and a desire to help their team succeed are highly valued.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
