Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Automation Specialist to join our team at Ainsworth, a leading company in the industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong health and safety practices and participate in regular safety talks.
  • Work closely with the Regional BAS Coordinator and Project Manager to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Coordinate with field technicians to ensure high-quality work and maintenance fulfillment.
  • BUILD inspection reports and present them to end-users.
  • Support the Remote Building Automation Systems team through remote diagnostics.
  • Work with third-party hardware and software in a service setting.
  • Provide engineering and design support for new construction and retrofits.
  • Provide onsite services through preventative maintenance and corrective work orders.
  • Follow Ainsworth's standard practices in the delivery of BAS projects.
  • Develop a teamwork approach while working autonomously in a productive and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or coordinate in-depth repairs of building automation systems using software and advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Generate graphics and programs based on design documents.
  • Develop advanced knowledge of Schneider Electric engineering and programming tools.
  • Competency in networking protocols, including TCP/IP, MSTP, LON, and BACnet applications.
  • Ability to integrate Lon/BACNet Network Controllers with Schneider software (WPT, WPP, Workbench) and other vendors.
  • Take responsibility for assigned tasks and complete them on time.
  • Represent the company in a dignified manner and prioritize customer needs.
  • Familiarity with project scope, progress, and reporting any project deficiencies or issues to the Regional BAS Coordinator or PM.
  • Willingsness to take on lead tech roles for smaller-sized projects.
  • Ability to coordinate work with internal/external electrical and pneumatic reps and/or Mechanical/Electrical trades.
  • Perform project commissioning documentation for as-built purposes.
  • Assist with sales estimations and project extra costing exercises.
  • Assist with customer training.
  • Ensure all job functions are performed in a safe and healthy manner, following Health, Safety, and Environmental company policies and government regulations.
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality System operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a college program in Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 4 years of related experience in building automation, security, and/or fire.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to be insured by Ainsworth Inc.
  • Pass Security screening as required by government agencies and clients.
  • Physical fit and able to access and work in a construction site environment.
