About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Animator to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Senior Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-complexity and high-quality realistic character animations for in-game cinematics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with directors and leads to achieve the desired storytelling and performance in cinematics.
  • Create high-quality animations that adhere to both artistic vision and technical constraints.
  • Mentor junior and mid animators to foster a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
  • Work closely with the narrative, audio, VFX, and technical teams to ensure animations support storytelling and qualitative objectives.
  • Contribute to planning performance capture sessions and ensure assets are ready for shoot.

Expectations

  • Deliver high-quality animations on target for visual benchmarks while managing production deadlines.
  • Advocate for production deadlines and manage efforts to achieve task completion within them.
  • Have strong communication skills and seek opportunities to mentor the team.
  • Identify and solve technical and creative issues to maintain the highest quality of animations.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction well.
  • Facilitate implementation of animation content and test results in the game.
  • Collaborate and discuss artistic and technical challenges with colleagues.
  • Seek feedback and direction on work while providing feedback to others.
  • Contribute to the craft and promote a collaborative learning culture within the team.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and possess a creative mindset.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a cinematic Animator for in-game content.
  • Expert in animation software such as Maya, Motion Builder, or similar tools.
  • Expert at performance capture polish and keyframe proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of character animation, timing, and storytelling.
  • Experience with motion capture data and techniques.
  • Worked on at least one AAA game where you were intimately involved in creating narrative content such as cinematics or scripted events.
  • Good eye for camera language and framing is appreciated.
  • Broad understanding of technical workflows.
  • Collaborative and inclusive with experience in reaching out to the broader team for content alignment.
  • Passionate about improving workflows and tools.
