Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Designer IV to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of embedded software for our fire detection systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded software for fire detection systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets requirements and is delivered on time
  • Develop and maintain software documentation and technical specifications
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code is delivered
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
  • Strong knowledge of C programming language
  • Experience with Linux operating system
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C++ programming language
  • Experience with Linux device drivers
  • Experience with yocto build environment
  • Experience with Windriver Linux LTS
  • Knowledge of GUI libraries such as QT or GTK
