About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Officer to join our team at the Canadian Armed Forces. As a Legal Officer, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and services to the military, including operational law, international law, training, military personnel law, and military justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice to commanders and other senior military officials on international and domestic law
  • Deliver training on military law and military justice
  • Work with Canadian and allied forces, local officials, and international organizations on international legal issues
  • Provide general legal advice and services to the commanding officer of a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Base
  • Participate in the development and implementation of military policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Admission to the Bar of a Canadian province or territory
  • Membership in good standing of a provincial or territorial law society
  • Practice experience in Canadian Criminal Law, International Law, Administrative Law, Labour and Employment Law, or Human Rights Law
  • Basic training and military officer qualification training
